Energy
Model
The SemiAnalysis Energy Model translates AI datacenter buildout into power infrastructure demand, providing a granular view of the supply-demand gaps across major electricity markets in the United States. We integrate a national inventory of electric generators, storage, and onsite energy solutions with datacenter IT capacity projections and integrated resource plans from electric utilities, RTOs, and ISOs. The model forecasts where the electric grid falls short and identifies what solutions may bridge that gap.
The model enables a forward-looking view on which utilities face the most severe supply-demand gaps, where and how new generation capacity will come online, and where power supply and transmission constraints may delay load growth. Clients gain a nuanced view on power supply bottlenecks in datacenter demand growth, and where those constraints can be overcome.
Our clients include utilities, IPPs (Independent Power Producers), equipment manufacturers, hyperscalers, datacenter developers, and large investors in public and private markets.
